Poet, novelist, geologist and scholar Subhash Jaireth has been a uniquely cosmopolitan presence in the capital's literary scene for three decades. Jaireth's latest collection of short stories, Moments, explores the nature of love, loss and memory, imagining its way into the experiences of figures as diverse as Pablo Casals, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Walter Benjamin. To Silence, his 2012 collaboration with Street Theatre artistic director Caroline Stacey, was a critically acclaimed exploration of the boundaries between time, language and truth.
In a conversation ranging across theatre, music and literature, Jaireth and Stacey will investigate the perils and pleasures of creative cross-pollination. Featuring two of Canberra's preeminent creative minds, this event is not to be missed.
